Callum Innes Studio is an artists studio based in Edinburgh who have been using Filemaker for several years to maintain a database of artworks, keeping track of their titles, details, images etc, and tracking the galleries they have been sent to and where they are stored.

Callum Innes Studio had been running their database off a single file and it had come to their attention that it would be more beneficial to move the data to FileMaker server for backing up and making the database available to the outside world.
How we solved it
Our approach
We installed the FileMaker server and made sure that their network was made available to outside IPs. We then created a bespoke app launcher file. This allowed users in the studio to access their FileMaker database right from their desktop, removing the need for them to find the database in the open remote menu from within FileMaker. We then thumbnailed there vast images as the default size would make any remote work un-usable.
